Help! Front brake hose puzzle

Is there anyone else running a Minor with Marina disc brakes who could advise me on the correct flexible front hose?

When I came to replace the front brake hose on my Marina disc-braked Minor, I discovered the replacement Minor hose has a flat-ended union – compared to the original which has a tapered male union (see photograph 1).

I don’t think will provide a proper seal when mated to the copper pipe running to the caliper, which has a female end (see photograph 2).

(The flexible hose runs to a bracket on the trunnion where it is connected to the copper piper running to the caliper.)
Also, the hose has an overall length of 33cm (original 36.5,) of which the thin threaded part is 1cm (original 2.5 cm).

However, all the thread sizes are correct.

I’m pretty sure the original is a Minor hose rather than a Marina, because the pictures of Marina front hoses I’ve found on the net appear to have two thin unions, compared to one fat and one thin on the Minor.

Can anyone throw some light on this?

The pipe that you have as a replacement will not seal. It looks to be a standard Minor one for drum brakes and screws into the rear of the brake cylinder.
The pipes that you want are Goodridge stainless kit Pt No: SAH0501-3P and available from all good motor factors and well worth the extra cost.
You may have to change the female union nut where the pipe from the 4 way connector is attached to the outside of the flitch panel.
I have these fitted to my Marina disc braked Minor.[frame]Image[/frame]
