Just been talking to Chris at Tom Roys, and he tells me that he ,in conjuction with an engineer,,has designed a former, to mill the end main bearing cap and seal to make a better flush fitting ,and oil tight seal, says he has done about 50 and not had one back with a leak,Anyone rebuilding and wanting to improve on the original scroll seal, may get advice from him. All he needs is the end bearing cap from your engine and the complete seal kit,or he can supply a kit, which he also modifies.Turns round in about a week., he's apparently used the back end of a engine block.

Regarding the oil seal conversion kit - anything that gets rid of the spacer between crank and flywheel is a bonus.
A good idea spoilt by the spacer.

Not having seen the kit,but Chric says he mods it by a machined groove didn't quite understand where ,Think he said the whole job was about £40 plus postage. He didn't ask me to post just thought I would pass on the info,he's done a few mg midgets as well.

Seriously - fix the problem, not the leak.........
