MMT Conversion

Post by Stubmiester »

Is it possible to convert a traveler to a van? and by van i mean an open top van with a canvas roof.

I have such a project in mind with our existing traveler where the wood is shot and for practical everyday use for the wife's business and two dogs a van would be a good alternative.

Do you mean pickup then ? .The traveller would need substantial strengthening as the wood takes care of this .I have seen quite a few Travellers done and think there is one on Ebay now

It would certainly need plenty of extra strengthening if the wood frame was removed. Also you ought to consider the value of your original Traveller as conversions ( unless to a very high standard) are sometimes hard to sell and low valued. Not buying a wood kit for it might be a false economy.

Although I suppose 'anything' is possible -I doubt this is wise.......or worth the trouble.........

Worth far more if you restore the car and also the original vans and pickups had a different chassis
