SU do carb rebuilds for about £140 + VAT if it really is worn but expect a long wait. You could try an overhaul kit and DIY but the spindle may need a re-bush and can be fiddly to do. Bull Motif do exchange carbs. Are you sure it's the carb and not points and plugs?

Why would it be the carb ?? No matter how worn it is - the engine will still start provided petrol is getting to the float chamber. On an A35 it has a mechanical pump -so the fuel has to be pumped through before it can hope to start . Are there any petrol leaks on the carb ? Look to the general engine condition - and the ignition system condition to rectify poor starting... It's NOT the carb....

The carb in question may be Zenith 26JS or Zenith 26VME or SU. The OP does not state which.
If it is a Zenith - service parts for the 26JS are not available. Parts/overhaul kits for the 26VME are available from Bull Motif.
Bull Motif do a Zenith to SU conversion. See their web site for details.

Oh sorry - you said it was 'same as Minor' therefore I assumed you had the SU carb. Get rid of the ghastly Zenith - and just fit a complete manifold and SU from a Minor. It's MUCH better!

The most suitable SU carb for your engine and taken from the Burlen SU carb Co data is a AUC944 which is a HS2 carb.
I would advise that you first look at the Bull Motif web site to see the full details of the SU conversion. Speak to Bull Motif if necessary.
When I had my A35 replacing the Zenith with the SU was a real winner all round.
