Could anyone recommend a good hide food for rejuvenating leather seats?

Connolly hide food is very expensive compared to something like Gold Label, which seems to be the same sort of bees' wax and lanolin product - for a fraction of the price.

Is there any difference? Are you paying extra for the Connolly name?

Having researched this a while back when renovating the red leather seats in my ’57 4 door and grey leather seats in my ’58 traveller, Gliptone Liquid leather came with many good reviews.
I tried the cleaner and the conditioner and they are brilliant.
The red leather seats were hard and brittle in places as they had caught the sun over the years and had “dried out”. The leather conditioner has transformed them.
They have regained their suppleness and shine. You will need to reapply the conditioner a number of times, depending on how neglected the leather is.
Very pleased with the results. Highly recommended!

when I was doing a refurb on another car,I found the best and cheapest products were from a saddlers,saddle soap and another product which I cant remember the name of,brought mine back to as new.If there is one in your area worth a look.

I bought a tin of 'Ko cao line' Leather dressing manufactured by Carr, Day and Martin. Opening the can I was horrified to find that it was bright red, and I wanted to treat some cream leather. Subsequently having a car with old, hard red leather I found it very good, but best avoided unless your trim is red.

This is the kind of product you need.

I checked out Gliptone online and while the reviews praised the cleaner, a lot of people complained about the smell. Apparently, it's supposed to smell like new leather but the reviews variously compared it to 'cow dung' and 'old people'!

Has anyone else experienced this?

(Personally, I'm a little sceptical artificial smells which I think are a gimmick; I'd prefer a product that rejuvenates the leather physically.)

As long as it doesnt smell like old gardeners!Seriously it smells great,just like leather.They even do an air freshener version.

kiefer do good leather feed and lincon do as well

I had a Cavalier Diplomat with lovely leather seats They were very dry and dull when I got the car but I treated them with Autoglym leather feed, worked great and not too expensive.
