Hi guys.I have an oil leak coming from the clip that dangles from the bellhousing I also noticed after a little run out that when I let the engine idle for a while the oil light on the speedo clock comes on flickers then will stay on but of I give it a rev it'll go out!I took the oil cap off give it a rev looking out for fumes but nothing and it seems to be breathing from the breather pipe on the side of the engine.Heres a few photos.[frame]

Well - obviously the engine is 'a bit worn' and probably the rear main is being flooded with excess oil due to some wear in the shells/shaft.. The engine will run for many a mile yet -just have to put up with the leak... Maybe a tray of cat litter where the car sits...

Avoid parking on newly laid block paved driveways

I don't think an mot tester would take to kindly to the oil leak!

Just drive, it will coat the underside. MOT man won't be a worry but Scrutineer at Silverstone may be unhappy?

Mot will mention it as an observation - but it's not a 'fail'. When i had a 'Track' Mini - when I took it to Sprints - I had removed the jiggle pin - and enlarged the hole slightly - to take a rubber bung.... So after every run the car was parked away from prying eyes - and the bung removed, to let any oil escape..the bung being refitted for the next run... Since most of it's events were on grass (Autocross) - the bung was removed completely for these events..
