Its a nice car needs a few pounds spent on it but usable.

Think I should clear my garage out now so I can treat my car a bit better.

Well here are the pictures, taken today at Brooklands - had to wait whilst other members were taking "selfies" of themselves with the car in the background![frame][/frame][frame][/frame][frame][/frame]
I was under the impression that this car was not Lilac when it rolled off the poduction line, and that Morris bought it back from the owner - am I wrong? Paint finish leaves a lot to be desired in this picture - note the bubbles.
The interior is a bit shabby (no pictures taken) with a bit of "blue spot" staining on the leather seats (needs work here - or cleaning up).

I have read when the owner purchased the car it was red .I don't blame whoever changed the colour as it has to be the worst colour ever

Minor history could have been different,

Top Morris management apparently really wanted metallic silver or gold but paint suppliers only guaranteed that type of finish for lasting any good for only 6 months.

Included on the short list in order to make a 'publicity statement' was Orange , Lime Green , as well as the Lilac finally used.

Nice car and historically important but I'd still feel a bit conspicuous driving around in something that colour!

Was the stamped chassis nos. clearly visable?

After being dazzled by the paint colour would anyone be able to read a chassis number?

I only took a photo of the main bulkhead plate, but cleary visible. I didn't think to take pictures of any other plates, sorry.

i saw the new owner collecting it at brooklands on sunday and driving it away. I then caught it up in the M25 - hopefully that'll set a precedent that it'll be used. poor old boy looked terrified, though -- i dont think the trafficators were working, even though i was looking for them, making lane changing on the m25 a tad sketchy!![frame][/frame][frame][/frame]

Realy nice to see it on the roads.

to be fair, I hate driving on the M25 nd would probably have been just as scared in ym 948 with all the other ****ers on the road - particularly without indicators giving them more opportunity to not give him an inch as usual...
