Hello I have just bought a 1969 Minor and I would like to know,the best place to buy spare body panels.I know there are a lot of suppliers about,but there must be certain ones that are prefered by members

Thanks I looked at the lower outer door skin ,for a 4 door and I can`t quite figure it out ,I know I need the lower outer skin,and the bottom plate

I have bought my body panels from Bull Motif Spares. They have provided good quality British made panels at a good price with a good service. I think the outer lower door panel seems to be RP131A L for left or R for right.
Both companies provide a similar service - many people will use whoever is closest particularly if they want to see the parts and collect them.

MOSS are not necessary cheapest - but they do have number of depots, and since carriage is a huge part of the cost for bady panels - there may be a depot near you where you can collect. Not too far from Bully's or Charles Ware in Bristol. I've found them both ok.

I am having the Morris ,delivered next week and then I can get down and see what needs doing.Looking at the photo of the outer lower door panel replacement,I couldn`t quite make out the shape.Has anyone used one of these and how well do they come out.I have used repair panels in the past,but the Minor door has an unusual shape Len

Yes. It can. You just have to cut off a few inches at the back. The shape is otherwise the same.

When I looked at the clutch pedal last night,it was very stiff and the rubber bearing in the lever shaft bracket was completely perished.So when you pushed the clutch pedal down the shaft was twisting.I soaked it in WD40 overnight and when I tried this morning ,I have drive,the clutch pedal is a lot easier to move .So a replacement rubber bush ,may be the answer.I will let you know,watch this space.Very unusual Len

Removed clutch lever bracket,and it really has collapsed .Hopefully this will be the cause of the problem.I would still like to remove the engine,as I want to fully resore the car.I restore cars as a hobby ,to try to bring them to original as possible.So I want to clear the engine bay,and paint it .Photo attached of the bracket[frame][/frame]

I have managed to free up the clutch pedal and before I removed the broken shaft bush ,I found I could operate the clutch ,of a fashion.But at least I can get the clutch to engage,so the pedal must have ben more siezed than I thought .I have ordered new pars and will fit and try .

Before I removed the plate with the bush in,and before I had freed off the pedal.I noticed that the clutch lever into the bell housing ,was hardly moving .When the pedal was depressed the rod was moving a lot in the broken bush and the siezing of the pedal stopped the clutch from moving.I believe the clutch plate was in the seperated position ,thats why there was no drive.I will make a post,when I receive the new bushes and fit them.

Whilst the original relay shaft bush Pt No: 1526 is satisfactory for a short while - the original specification rubber bush is too soft and will soon deteriorate and could be better replaced with a poly bush or harder rubber bush. I have previous to poly bushes becoming available used as a replacement cut down tele damper mounting bushes and/or the hard plastic bush from Minor Mania; and as they are black and harder you cannot tell the difference unless you strip the linkage.

Hello when I removed the floor ,the clutch pedal was very low and there was no return spring on it ,also the brake pedal return spring is broken.When I moved the clutch pedal by hand which was very stiff,the brake pedal also moved with it,so both must have partially siezed on the shaft.Now after a good soaking in WD40 , new busheson the shaft, and moving both up and down,they are both quite free.Also the clutch works and I can engage gear and the car moves.Now I can start the restoration

Put something thicker than WD40 once they are freed up, some engine oil and/or grease will give long term lubrication.

The last picture seems to show the base cushion of a 2door saloon rear seat yes. The backrest part is the same I think for the 2door and the 4door. I can only see pictures of front passenger seats, the drivers seat should have adjustment of course.
