after purchasing 3 front rubber surrounds from 3 different suppliers it is obvious that they do not fit because they all have a manufacturing defect, the lip on the outside is not deep enough and to flimsy to secure screens into frame.after several failed attempts i bought 3.5 metres of 1181 windscreen rubber from woolies in peterborough then cut and glued to size.this has a much larger lip than the ones purchased and secures to the frame much better.a plastic beading is supplied with the rubber, this can be glued to lip on rubber to look like original moulding which is no longer avaliable . it only took 3 hours to fit and the screens are now a tighter fit than before. hope this helps someone in future.

Any chance of a pic? Been looking at the pic on Woolies site of 1181 and can't work out how it would fit. Must be looking at it back to front...
It doesn't really matter which supplier you get window rubbers from there's only one manufacturer as far as I know so everyones will be the same, but I guess you already know that now if you've tried 3. A bit more meat on the outer lip would make them a lot easier to fit....

the first series 2 rubber i bought from a supplier was useless, and then i remembered an ad in minor matters by another supplier which said [our screen rubbers fit] and altho it was still a difficult job for two of us which have over 60 years combined experiance with motor trade
