The fronts ARE clear - they have to be...... And rears HAVE to be RED !

Why on earth would you want to mess with them ?

I do quite like the clear front lenses for the later indicator/pilot light assemblies - but only on certain colours...

There is a model of the Ford Focus that has clear lenses on the back and they are fitted with red bulbs for stop n tail & orange bulbs for indicators. THEY ARE CRAP! They fail mot every year. Red bulbs from Ford are about £12 each, they go white after about 18 months cheap motor factor ones loose the red PAINT after about 3 months. And as usual the orange indicator bulbs just loose the paint and show a weak orange/ white light so I fail them.
What a stupid idea to paint bulbs that get hot

Suspend reality! It's entertainment. But it has a value because it gets youngsters interested in our cars.

"We brought this little beauty for a bag o'sand..... Edd got it really sorted but I folded faster than superman on laundry day and sold it for less than the 4 grand I said it would get all day long - so we made a gazillion pounds profit cos of course My mate Edd and his workshop are absolutely free of cost and overheads... "
There's an impression I do of Del boy Brewer, but it isn't suitable for a public forum .. but it always makes the guys at work laugh.....

Top tip: Literally nothing you see on TV is real.

The mention of instant release oil reminds me of stuff we used in the 60s called Yield, I think it was made by unilever or a similar name, it was in a white aerosol tin with orange writing on it. We used it on ships exhaust pipe bolts 1" bsf. Fantastic stuff.

US spec MGAs used clear front indicator/sidelight lenses , had a pair fitted to my van! might still have an original Lucas one somewhere
