Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get tyres and/or disc brakes for a 1967 morris minor please. I'm in Surrey near Heathrow. Any help would be appreciated.

Chris.

Both ESM and BullMotif do disc brake conversions for the Minor but are expensive.
You could always get a set of Marina disc brakes off 'e' bay and recondition and use the BullMotif conversion parts.

Why do you want disc brakes ? The drums on your car will be the better 8" size at the front - and in GOOD ORDER they are more than adequate for any sane Minor motoring with a reasonably standard engine. Are you planning on increasing the engine power? You have however identified the major Minor (!) failing - it needs better wheels and tyres.... Jono at JLH will do you a good deal on wheels if you ask him nicely..... http://www.jlhmorrisminors.co.uk/store/ ... t&catId=20

The car has been sat since 1985 and I need the braking power for an emergency stop as I plan to use it for commuting to work and the current brakes are all but non existent dispite being freed up. Yes and they are the same ones from the 80s ao have perished a bit. I will try him for the tyres. Thank you,

Just overhaul the brakes properly..new wheel cylinders and new shoes. They will EASILY lock wheels for emergency stop, and the cost will be a tiny fraction of the cost (and work) of fitting disc brakes.....
