Morris Marina engine keeps blowing oil gaskets it has 2 breathers one near the fan and one on rocker cover

But are the breathers connected to the inlet system in some way - to suck away the fumes ??? General test of engine condition though is with hot engine, idling, remove the oil filler cap and rev up - is there a plume of smoke/fume ?
