2 fibreglass and prime or not....
Im rebuilding my uncles old morris sallon ragtop!
Its green atm and so are all the panels! now most of the panels are actually faded green and have rusty holes in them, im contemplating wether it is worth fibreglassing them or simply buying brand new ones! and also im going to respray skyler(th morris) in Matt black, are u sure i shud sand and then prime, cant i just spray over the original colour?(green) meh!
any tips on th fibreglassing idea and priming would be grately appreciated, thanQ all! charly

Depends on how much you want to spend Charly panels like wings are around £90 and until removed you cant be sure if there is more work needed behind them if you look at the link it will give you an idea on prices.

I am no expert on spraying but the least you will need to do is sand the topcoat to give the new paint a key.

Be careful you dont make it any lower or you will restrict thottle movement.

If you have a perfectly sound paint finish then you do not have
to prime before spraying again. What you MUST do is wet and dry
the original finish so that there is no trace left of the original shine!!
This will ensure that there is no trace of polish or road grime left
which would prevent the new paint from adhering properly. This
applies as long as you are spraying paint which is compatible with
the original type i.e. Cellulose on to Cellulose or Acrylic on to
absolutely anything!!
