What's the difference between an A35 (10AB) 1098cc and the traditional
Minor's (10MA) 1098cc?
This seems - or appears to have been - fitted to one Minor LCV at the
factory, anyone any ideas.
Sure I've notes on another too(?), will check.
looked in the "engine" section of the book, I've added;; "With prod
of the A35 drawing to a close, Minor's poss fitted with A35 engines???"
Thanks

Is it the cutout in the block to use the mechanical fuel pump?

Found it, "other" one built (with a 10AB 1098cc) 2/68.
The plot thickens......
Wish I had a co-author!

My information states that the 10AB engine was a low compression unit and fitted to the Morris 1000 van.

No, it's for a A35 1098cc van
Is this info from the same source that lists 8AG as a 948cc GPO & 10MC as a 1098cc GPO?

Pretty sure 8 AG engines are 848....certainly fitted to some later Morris/Austin vans and maybe also to A35 vans?

Never had doubts on the accuracy of the info contained in the attached link.

Certainly TWO engine models missing from this list.
Poss more to be found if I hadn't dozed off reading about the Egyptians -
are the English STILL blaming Nasser?!

So ignoring your comment above re A35 - was the 10AB a 1098cc low compression engine ever fitted to a Morris 1000 van or not?
Also are those other engines listed relative to the 'A' Series correct as regards their fitment/application or are there other mistakes?
What are the two engine missing from the list?

"Austin" Minor van/pick-up engine colour debate still unresolved!
How many ORIGINAL condition Austin commercials exist - with red BMC chassis
plates - green or black painted engines?

The search for Morris Minor information is a bit like the "myth" of the secret store of reserve steam locomotives for use post atomic apocalypse or the story of the 'Lost Ark of the Covenant'.
Will we ever get to the bottom of it all?

The GPO vans were never fitted with 948 engines, they went from 803 to 1098 in 1963
I did not think that A35s were fitted wih 1098s
Morris used electric fuel pumps, Austin used mechanical pumps

23/9/64 for GPO 6cwt 1098cc, all 1963 & mid 1964 GPO Minor's were 803cc Q 5cwts.
So, 10AB's would have had to been altered to fit Minor's?
