My mid 64 car was originally pull start, this was moved to the key when a later ignition switch was badly fitted. I've made good on that switch installation but I still intend to revert to pull start when I have the parts.

I have a washer push in place of the original pull start, Question is" where would Washer push have been originally and where was the reservoir?

The manual washer pump button would have been fitted on a bracket, under the dash, along the leading edge.
The Water Reservoir, on the other hand, could be anywhere in the engine bay area.
I well remember one cold winter, when I had to drive to Bucklers Hard, for a week's residential training course, in my 1964 2-door saloon (long sold), I relocated the wash bottle into the left-hand glove-box aperture to keep it from freezing up (no screen wash in it)

Swap the wiper switch for a light switch and wire the wipers into the side light terminal, fit an electric washer and wire it to the headlamp terminals. Note the wipers are switched earth so the wire for the wipers can be taken from the wipers to washer pump, to switch then earth. Swap the connections at the pump to give squirt not suck as necessary.
Checked my car and I have taken the power to the pump from the fuel pump terminal

What a jolly good idea! I hadn't thought of that as a possibility.

Attempting to keep mine looking as original as possible, I fitted an electric push-to-make switch on the existing under-dash bracket. Obviously this only squirts when pressed and, upon releasing the switch, the motor stops.

I like the idea of using a light switch, however. I don't find going from headlamps to sidelights very positive on the Lucas pull-switches but I'm sure that's just because mine are a bit worn.

Works fine on my Series MM pull, pull switch and my '68 Traveller Lucas toggle switch. The spare hole on the Traveller is used for the hazzard light switch

All good info, for me, I really want the pull start back though.
