Hi,
Has anyone out there fitted a Ford 1300cc crossflow engine?
I am thinking of upgrading my standard 1098cc.
I did read with interest on the alternative engine section that the ford was a suitable
candidate.
Would this engine have any great advantage over my present set up?
I have already upgraded the suspension and brakes.
So if anybody has done this conversion or would like to offer advice I would be very
grateful.
Merry Christmas!
Martin.

Re: Ford crossflow 1300cc engine
You could fit a 1275/1300 A series engine for that sort of power and a lot less work.
Or you could fit a more modern ford engine to a Ford RWD gearbox for the same amount of work as a 1300 Crossflow but get better performancy, economy or both.
With the A series engine, the engine mounts & gearbox mounts will fit, for the Ford you'll have to make up mounts for both and sort out a propshaft to join to the existing back axle or also carry over the ford back axle with the propshaft length altered to suit the length of the Minor.
