Thanks for your kind words. As long as I can keep it garaged,it will always stay as it is.

Yes, the GPO must be wondering why a Suffolk mailvan is
delivering in Manchester...
Strange to think this was made alongside Engineers' vans
with opening o/s screens!

I'd have been throwing off the mid day walk at 9am. Things have changed so much. Still, nobody does it better than Royal Mail !

I can remember a weekend-long conversation when me and Andy G and 1098 were parked up at a National rally at Harewood house some years ago when 1098 had just acquired this van - and was talking of restoring it. Glad that the decision was to conserve rather than to restore! Made a weekends worth of grovelling, pleading and cajoling all worth while! Merry Christmas, Ed.

Thanks Dave. I'm often told to leave it as it is,saves me a lot of money to do so !
Merry Christmas to you also. Ed

Oh yes, don't restore that one! The quote on my sig says it all....
Great to see it out and about.
Didn't know you were a J van owner too Sid. Any others out there?
It was a simple matter to rip the up and over garage door off, raise the lintle and make hinged doors when we got the J. There's always a way...

sorry if i mis-led you Iainin..'my' J van is the derelict one that lives near me.i'll try to find out if it can be rescued before the local 'metal re-cyclers' spot it
