Missing hole

Post by Theo_NL »

I collected my new block at ESM last week. Compared to my old block there is a hole missing (left below on the picture). In the old one it was covered with a small cover with 2 studs, the new block has no hole but one stud (see pictures).

What was the hole for (just curious, it was covered in the old one), and why is there one stud in the new block?

Thanks,

The hole is for the mechanical fuel pump - if you want to use that. The single stud secures the breather pipe coming down from the cam follower chest cover.

The blocks with the 'hole' seem to be found predominantly in the Austin variant of the van/pickup.
