What is this bit..?

Hi all.

I am rebuilding a car from a box of bits. What is this bit? There are 2 of them (handed)

What's it do and where does it go.? Any ideas? Cheers[frame]Image[/frame]

These are the inside covers for trafficators on the pre - 61 cars, they screw to the a post.

Attach your semaphore loosely and slide this in from the back they are body shaped, it helps stop wind and water getting in. Make sure you clean the area inside were the screws attach as this is how your semaphore earths to the body.

Thanks Ian, I've just rediscovered one of these in my Series MM glovebox - I remember the previous owner saying that he had worked on getting the semaphores working again. Looks like he forgot to put it back - now to find which side needs it.
