Hi All, I have a 1098 gearbox and the is some side wobble in the first motion shaft bearing, how would I go about replacing it, I have removed the oil seal cover.

I think you need to dismantle the box to remove it. You will need a manual if you attempt it.

Quite involved, all the innards need to be taken out from the rear,had the same problem with mine it was easier to fit an other box,It may last for some time but will eventually become very noisy.

You will get some side movement, simply because of the unsupported end, when the shaft end is in the crankshaft bush it is then being supported, of course if there is bad side to side movement, then that's another story, and may then justify a stripdown.
As mentioned earlier the manual will give you all the data needed to rebuild if you go that way, or you may decide to gamble on a s/h box. Good luck either way.

It is very little, I have video'd the wobble and will link it shortly for you to see and let me know what you think.

Video of The play in First motion shaft bearing. The play seems a lot at the end of the shaft but then you look at the movement close to the bearing and it is barely there. What do you guys think?

That's fine, bearings will have that sort of play when you have an unsupported end, and 8 inches or so of leverage. It's up and down movement in ball bearings that must be right. If you've removed the box because of noise I would suggest it's coming from elsewhere.

Oh thank goodness. No I bought a project back in june, While the body is getting welded, I am sorting out all other problems, was just checking the gearbox before I refit.

Yes I did take a look, I hope you don't regret welding on those cills though! I presume you made sure the metalwork underneath was sound. If so, the least you can do now is drill a couple of 1/2 inch holes in the cill ends and inject something like Waxoyl in, and use rubber grommets to fill the holes.

The hole floor, sills and box section are all new metal, so they should be rust free for many years, yes I am taking the advice of many and injecting the sills I give added protection. Although at least now no water ingress should take place.
