Hi
I am new to the club and as this is my first time on here please be gentle with me.
My Minor 1000 1965 has got a real problem as I am driving there is a really bad flat spot on initial acceleration and as the car speeds up and the revs slowly build it starts to pop and bang and eventually cuts out and won't restart unless left to cool down any hints and tips greatly appreciated

Dave

Welcome to the forum. Could be 101 things. Try fuel first. Disconnect the fuel hose, hold the tube in a bottle and get someone to turn on the ignition. The pump should deliver about a pint in 30 secs if I remember correctly.

Welcome to the forum! Has this problem suddenly come on - or has it gradually been getting worse ? The misfiring suggests an ignition problem -possibly just points needing adjusted, more likely the condenser is dying -or it could be the rotor arm (or many other things) - these are the low cost fixes - so may as well check them out first.

If its a flat spot, check the dash pot in the carb rises/falls nice and smoothly.
