Hi all,
Just about to buy a few 10amp fuses as spares (ebay is best I assume?) and they're all listed as either 'slow blow' or 'quick blow'.
Which do I want??
(1098 '67 saloon....although I doubt that makes a difference
Thanks
Matt

The standard fuses in the fuse block are 35 amp .. and I would go for quick blow, The fuse in the single holder (side lights) is probably 10 amp and again I would get quick blow.

Interesting one...
Slow blow fuses are generally intended for use with motors or anything inductive as they have a high inrush current which is greater than the steady state current once running. So wiper motor, horn, fuel pump etc. If these were fused individually I'd go for a slow or standard fuse. Unfortunately on Minors they aren't and 35A fuses are overkill really So I would go with fast for them. I'd guess the 10A you need if for the interior lights so fast is the way to go there too.

Interestingly, VWP rate their 10A fuses at 5A continuous and 10A blow so I suspect these are Fast fuses.
In an ideal world, I would be tempted to replace the 2x fuse holder with a 4x holder.

Yep. It's a standard way of rating fuses. VWP is a bit missleading though. If a fuse is marked as 10A(F) or 10A(S) there will be a rating of how long it will pass 200% of its rated current for before blowing.

Old thread resurrection because this is the only thread that mentions fuse and 30mm.
It appears that there are two different sizes for glass fuses, 5x20mm and 6x30mm. Naturally I want to know which size our cars have. I already know that I want a 35A rating but there are virtually none on eBay that are 20mm and ESM have no stock.
So I just want to confirm please, are the two 35A glass fuses 20 or 30mm long?
