Hello from a Newbie in Cornwall

Post by thesmithsUK »

Hi there,

Already had some useful advice from a fellow member so thought I should introduce myself…

Proud owner of this (apologies for the image quality - the nights are drawing in!):

[frame]Image[/frame]

Previous owner had it for 18 years and bought it, fully restored (new floor, new wings, rebuilt engine, reconditioned gearbox, full respray, etc.) from Minor Miracles in Devon.

First registered in 1968. She's done 38k miles on the rebuilt engine - around 2,100 per year.

Recent work (within last 12 months) includes new left and right hand under-sills, left and right hand floor edge panels, four new wheel cylinders, new carpets fitted, welding to both rear and front spring hangers and front floor pan area. Around £1,650 in total.

Bought a few weeks ago but this is the first afternoon I've been able to spend some time on her. Oil and filter changed, new spark plugs, air filter, brake fluid and gearbox topped up.

My dad's sending me his old Wanner grease gun (last used, apparently, on his Austin A30 back in the 50s!) so will get to those grease nipples shortly…

Anyway, great forum. Looking forward to getting involved.
