I read a post here a while ago about polyurethane bushes for the front uprights rear springs etc, I wondered if anyone can tell me if the different colours of these bushes are indeed to indicate various degrees of hardness or just a product of different manufacturers? If the former is the case, which is best for the road? Who sells them? Thanks.

Lo Les, the colours do not seem to be a cast iron way of
identifying the 'hardness' of the bushes. but the operative
word is 'poly'. the hard plastic bushes give positive location
but induce a harshness in the various fittings which,of course,
were originally designed to work in rubber. I have fitted the
dark blue Polyurethene type in the rear spring hangars to
good effect, the front Eyebolt replacements are orange,
and I have just replaced the top swivel link rubbers with
quite soft Yellow ones!! all of mine were obtained from ads
in the MMOC mag.

If it is any help, the red ones available from the Morris Minor Centre in Birmingham are too harsh for road use.

The yellow ones from JLH Minors are just about right.
