Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi all, my dad just passed away recently and I'd like to try to trace his old morris. It was his first car that he owned in the 60's. It may not even be on the road now, so far the only info I have is the numberplate. 7721SP
Any advice on how to go about finding it?

DVLA site says "Vehicle details could not be found"
Hasn't been seen for quite a few years, might have been melted down or could be in a barn somewhere.

Thanks MarkyB. Thats a shame, my dad was good at keeping records so I might find some documentation as to who he sold it to.
