Can anyone please tell me the procedure for replacing the quarter light rubbers in my Traveller, including possible snags? I'm unwilling to tear the old ones apart without some previous knowledge!

Remove the window frame.Undo the screws holding the top hinge to the frame, undo the bolt on the lower pivot.Clean everything up,make sure the top hinge screws and thread on pivot are nicely greased.Remove old rubber.Fit new rubber.Reverse the dismantling procedure(as they say in The haynes manual).

Hi Tysonn
Can you elaborate on what you mean by the window frame? Do you mean the top of the door which runs the entire width, or the strip at the bottom? Thanks

To remove the quarterlight lower pivot you need the frame out.Bolts at the rear of door (lock end)and under the door card, lower window(unbolt the stop at the bottom so the glass drops further),unbolt the winder so you can slide the arms off the runners on bottom of the glass)leave the glass in the door, then 3(maybe 2 cant remember)bolts inside door under the quarterlight(a bit awkward to get at). Then the complete frame will lift upwards and off.

I'm more confused than ever here :o

Just the 2 grub screws to remove - top half usually defies gravity and you'll
find it's 10ft away under a leaf.

Are separate rubbers available?

There are 2 pieces of rubber that could be described as Quarter light rubbers, the bit that the glass sits in and the bit that seals the actual quarter light when it's closed.

Thats certainly correct.OP didn't state which and I assumed he meant the meant the profiled seal as the thin rubber around the glass is straightforward to replace(once you manage to get it out of the frame).

Actually there are 3 as there is the upright seal in the frame as well.

Surely you're not having trouble with that one.Just in the middle of changing all the rubbers on mine.
