Just bought a set of four doors - not picked up yet. Image below. Clearly come with door handles windows etc. What
do you reckon these would cost. Want to see if I got a bargain.[frame][/frame]

Depends entirely on condition - you show only one door -and it's the underside that matters!

Yes obviously it depends on condition.. but given handles cost a certain amount, and windows cost a certain amount, a quarter light is £49.50 etc etc I thought someone may proffer an opinion.

If you are happy with the price you paid, that's what counts

Thanks Mike. Yes happy with the price, but still wondered what these type of things go for. Thought there might have been people who had purchased good/fair/poor doors and could give an idea as to what they go for when they come with all the glass and door fittings.

Do you need the handles etc, if not you are paying for something you have already. Although you could sell them on. The bottoms are usually the deciding factor with doors, dents would also affect price. What are those areas like? If the bottoms are iffy but repairable maybe £10-15 each . Just tell us what you paid, you'll soon hear if you got a bargain!

I was intending on buying new handles as they are crappy on mine - two new quarter lights, the bottom quarter panels for each door as they need replacing and then the underneath panel Then I would need to weld them, and then obviously repaint them.. so yes I got a bargain.

Still would love to see where you could get 4 doors with all the fittings, glass, handles, etc for £60 mind you.... any online at the moment?

Doing a few checks, maybe I've under estimated door prices, I would say if reasonable £100 a set, but condition is still the consideration.

ON the subject of doors - whats a going rate for getting them resprayed. Anyone had any done recently I will have a go on my crappy ones I will take off - but suspect I may have to get them done by a professional for the ones I want to replace them with.

There's no point teasing us up about the price of doors - you know what you paid and presumably you are happy. Respray - two rattle cans of undercoat and 4 of colour should do it. Say £50 ?

Not teasing at all....and yes Im happy. I - just wondered what others have paid .... and while I've had comments that you can get 4 doors for say £60, I have to say I've not seen any at that price complete with everything ready to paint and bolt on..... but interesting that the advice is they can be picked up for that.

So grey undercoat x 2 and then top coat x 4 How many spray cans you reckon would be needed for 4 doors and four coats?

Do you sand in between coats etc..... need to read up on all that.

is your car black?
if so go to poundland they have plenty of black gloss and grey primer..
if you say 2 cans of primer and gloss for each door...
then thats only £16.
i once sprayed a complete minor with their black gloss
use 24 cans.it came out very good.

Poundland gloss paint... now are you sure? It will more than likely look like a poundland job if done by me anyway

Reading is one thing.. and of course I will.... taking lots of bits to catch up on for my hols, much to the chagrin of my wife..... any tips from you chaps and chappesses who have been there and done it?

yes iam sure
its good paint .

I will have a play with a couple of their tins then.... they will probably think Im some sort of graffiti artist if I buy their stock up!

Bear in mind there are hundreds of blacks.It isn't just black.
