I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I've only just joined. I've got hold of a standard AUA 66 pump which looks as though its got very hot in the points dept. I also happen to have a new old stock AUF 214 pump. I know they are LP and HP pumps, but wondered if I can simply swap the lower union housing from one to the other, saving all the fag of overhauling the AUA 66 ?? With regards, John.

I would certainly give it a try! Be sure to stretch the diaphragm before tightening the ring of screws.

Ah we meet again. I've done that and I'll put it on to test it whilst settling the springs !! Just want it as a spare in the boot, as the car came with a Hardi look alike pump fitted. What's their reputation like ?
With regards, John.

If the pump on the car is 'known good' then that's the one to carry as a spare - you will need to test this made-up pump anyway, and if it works ok - just leave it on the car!
