Hi all. On a 66 Traveller, can anyone tell me the correct size for ordering, of the thick brown wire that comes out of the loom and goes to the starter solenoid terminal. I'm sure it's in the workshop manual somewhere, but I'm darned if I can find it! Thanks.

You would need a 17.5 amp wire ( or a 27.5 amp if you're a belt and braces man ! )
http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk Code for standard PVC wire 17.5 amp 28/0.30 wire is
010103 available in Brown and by the meter.
( ditto 27.5 amp wire 44/0.30 is
010104 )
Don't forget you will need a slightly larger non-insulated 6.3 mm female connector to cope with thicker wire !
Code 030205 Insulating sleeve
Code 030205 or heat shrink tubing if you prefer.
I'm just a satisfied customer of Auto Electrical Supplies Ltd , no connection and there are lots of other suppliers available.

Many thanks Bob. That's much appreciated, and I'll get on that straight away.

Go with the thicker wire - or 2 X the thinner one in parallel, especially if using an alternator.

Thanks, and yes, I have gone for the thicker one.
