Apologies if this is hidden somewhere on the site... If so please point me in the right direction

But please could someone tell me the correct SKF Bearing numbers for the rear axle and diff as I want to replace with quality bearings and order before I strip axle down

I have a 1098 minor (bought 1964) with I assume the 4.22 diff.

Also looking at workshop manual is the half shaft bearing an interference fit on the shaft ?

Can anyone confirm if there is a crushable washer behind pinion oil seal as the manual doesn't show one (just a shim)

Have a look at the MOSS breakdown diagrams - yes there is a crush washer (item 53). Unless you know of a problem within the final drive - I advise to leave it WELL alone ! The hub bearings are just a snug fit in the hubs - be sure to use the correct gaskets. Very unusual for these bearings to give any problems. Why do you want to change them?? The half shafts just pull out - no 'interference' fit involved...

Just thought as I plan to pull the axle apart that I might as well replace the lot... but no point bothering if they're OK

If it ain't broke don't fix it!!

Absolutely! Modern parts seem to be full of horror stories...so leave well alone - especially the final drive... Just clean out the debris and fill with new oil.

Today I've replaced the diff and hub O ring oil seals the hub nuts will not move.. I assume as per manual the near side one is un done clockwise and Off side undone anti clock wise???

I've just come back from a test drive no more diff oil leak and no whine from diff yea!!

Frustratingly the original diff is exceptionally clean and unworn (only done 18000 miles) but the taper roller bearing that has the pinion on it has obvious surface rust and I reckon its the fault, how difficult is it to replace/set up the diff as I don't have a dial indicator? Expert advice appreciated

What about the race that the taper rollers run against?

If it's just discoloured and not pitted I'd just leave it alone.

You say there is no whine - so yes -leave it well alone !
