Hi there,
Please could I have some advice on how to remove the rear axle filler plug on my lowlight. I checked the location from the manual and after removing the rear seat then the circular cover, I found the square looking plug ( I think! ).
How does it come out and what tool is best to use?
Thank you
Pete

A 5/8 a/f open ended spanner usually does the trick. You may find it easier to remove the n/s wheel, securely support the axle on stands and reach the filler plug from the side. Fill with EP90 until it dribbles over the top.

Hi again
Thanks Mike for your suggestion which I attempted today, but without success.
I assume it should come out the normal way ie anticlockwise, and not the opposite way round? I am also a little nervous not to break the thread and not being able to replace it.
Any further suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Pete

From Memory a 5/8 spanner is a reasonable fit over the bolt head or you might try a near size spanner. You may be able to tap a socket over the bolt head and undo it with a socket wrench. The thread is a long taper so there is not much chance of damaging it, the most damage you are likely to do is to your forearm when the spanner slips off the bolt.
A useful book is The Oxford Pocket Dictionary of Swearwords :) :(
