Inside of boot lid

My 52 four door MM series has rough paintwork (not rusted) and signs of glue inside the boot lid (see image attached). In the factory did these cars have a sound-proofing media/material fitted to the inside of the boot lids? If so does anyone know where I can get some from? Many Thanks

Yes, the same as the sound proofing inside the door skins. Mine gave up years ago, try Newton Commercial.
Please send me the details of your car for the register

Hi Mike, It is the 52 MM of Ray Newells. Original Registration was NRR84. It then went to live in Jersey for about twenty odd years and had the plate number J30184. I imported it back to England and tried to get NRR84 back from the DVLA but I suspect they flogged it. It has now got the plate YVL841. The car is Claridon Grey and the inside trim is red. So would the boot trim be red or not as inside the boot is black and grey?[frame]Image[/frame]

Paul,
Given the spate of thefts of classic cars, I suggest you delete your full address and send it to Mike via PM.

Regards, George.

The sound proofing material is black and you should find it attached to the door skins as well as the boot lid. I don't know how much sound it proofs, probably more anti drumming.
I don't have a list of people's website names so it can be difficult matching a car to a name. Thanks for the info, pity you can't get the old reg back, doe's anyone know what car it is on?
