Searching for my old car...

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help? I'm trying to track down my first car which I had in the early 1990s. It was a grey 1956 split screen Morris Minor, reg plate RUH 346. I'm wondering if there's some sort of database in your club or a way of asking members if anyone knows it's whereabouts? I've tried searching the reg number on the DVLA website but came up with nothing.
Many thanks,

The RUH 346 registration number is now on a white Volvo (unknown model) according to the Congestion charge site.
Your Minor car may still be on the road, and on the DVLA system with a replacement registration number!

Oh that's interesting! I wonder how I can find out. Maybe I should give the dvla a ring after the weekend. Thank you.

I just put the reg number into a car insurance quote site, and yes, it came up with a list of Volvos to choose from. All dated between 80s-90s. I wonder if that means it's being used as a personalised number plate now? Is that possible?

That's what I think, but don't necessarily assume that the number was transferred because your old Morris was scrapped. Although still using the car, a lot of people sell their car's number through a number plate dealer. DVLA then allocate a replacement number and the car continues in use.
Not sure how you are going to track the car down though. DVLA may not divulge that info.
