Rechroming bumpers

I have just had a quote for rechroming bumpers for my Traveller, £130 for the front, and £60 for the rear, plus VAT= £228. I didn't expect it to be cheap, but it seems OTT to me. Anybody got experience of this?

Sounds reasonable to me.I must assume that your front one needs a lot more prep than the rear as theyre a similar size?Prices are usually higher the further you go down south.Maybe the southern chrome mines are deeper. If the chromeshop has a good reputation I'd try and haggle a bit but use them. The quality of the Eastern made brightwork in my opinion is c**p.

Travellers have two small bumpers at the rear, so aren't the same size as the front. I see that Bullmotif do the rear ones in stainless steel at about the same cost as rechroming.

That would be worthwhile - mine were 'new' a few years ago now - and need constant cleaning, and of course the car is rarely used in the wet. The nearside one suffers more due to the exhaust exit just below.
