Hi all

Anyone know if it is possible to fit central locking to a Minor while still retaining the door locks etc from the Minor. I've seen various universal kits for sale but they are all for cars with a push/pull button locking system which of course the Minor doesn't have. Any ideas anyone?

I should think it would be difficult to fit using the original components, because of the metal geometry and moving parts... But if you work out how to do it, let us all know, won't you?

But surely it does have central locking, at least on the doors. From the front seat I can reach all the door locks.....

On Cam's car you can do the same from outside the driver's window...

well on a 2 door / traveller it's fairly simple - keep the passenger door locked and use the interior handle to let the passenger in. That way you only ever have to lock 1 door when you leave the car.

A dog on the back seat does away with the need to lock the doors especially if its from the breeder that supplies the Scrapyards........

They do electric window kits for custom streetrods/classics, but bear in mind that it's a kind of americian sized market not a mog. Having said that, from looking at their powerwindow and central locking offerings you may be in luck; the minor has quite a bit of space behind that door panel.

Whatever you decide bear in mind that (according to one Minor specialist I have spoken to) re-assembling the latch mechanism on a Minor is one of the most difficult jobs on the whole car.

don't like the look of that - the animation looks like some sneeky herbert comes along and grey primers your window. if you did get a central locking system with a remote control it wouldn't be allowed to go 'beep'. not on a morris minor. you'd have to get it to play the theme to the archers or somesuch...

Oh... can someone re-edit the new Skoda advert - the one with the central locking 'beeps'... I can see it now:
