Smiths clock in a 52 918cc mm

I bought a 52 mm and the clock in the glove box cover has been disconnected. When I came to reconnect I found a fish plate between two screws so I am a bit stumped. The car is + earth.
So my question is does the live wire showing 12v go to the connection which is insulated [the one that stands out perpendicular to the back of the clock] ? and where does the other one go.
PLEASE HELP
