My new jets don't fit :'(

Heya so I made my first order from ESM and I must say they arrive very quick

But now the problem :(

I removed one of of the black original washer jets as I bought some lovely twin chrome jets but sadly don't fit the original hole :( I know my only solution is to drill and make the hope bigger but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem as I'm not all that happy with drilling into my baby but it seems that's the only way

Hmmm yeah that's. good point but I would have thought ESM would have the right size jets unless it's because it's a twin jet nt single making the body wider but I don't know

If you drill/file - be sure to apply paint over the exposed metal.... have to ask - why do you want 'twin jets' ? The standard singles are perfectly adequate......if aimed correctly - and you push hard enough on the pump.

Don't worry I shall be and well they look really nice I thought, there also metal unlike the black plastic ones that I can't seem to undo without twisting so much that it seems they will just snap

And well my all system isn't working properly at the moment :( I have a feeling I have to fit a 1 way valve though as it doesn't have one anywhere in the lines but I took the whole system out and cleaned all the pipes and joints I've also stripped the pump down and put sealant in the compression section inside the button but it hasn't worked :( I honestly don't want to go to electrical but well I don't know what else to do if the one way valve doesn't work

My black plastic jets fell to bits on removal so I ordered chrome twin jets (ESM didn't know if I'd need to drill out). Same as you I had to drill so had to paint and wait for it to dry. Now I've got absolutely brilliant washers and no need for an electric pump. Sounds like you need to replace the manual push pump.
Good luck
John

Electric powered double jets are excellent, especially if you swap the wiper switch for a light switch and wire the wipers to the side light terminal and the washers to the headlight terminal. Washers were only fitted to later cars and seemed to be fitted in a variety of places, two singles on scuttle, one double on scuttle, one double on bonnet etc

Oh dear - the 'push' system is perfectly satisfactory! The non-return is on the suction pipe in the bottle.......

haha yeah thats what im worried to do on my passenger side as that doesn't want to come off without twisting. and yeah i think i may drill it and repaint then when i have the time to. and oh thats good was worried being twin there wouldnt be enough pressure to produce enough fluid/pressure. and oh really? :-? but i would have thought sealing the button together to hold pressure would have solved it :(

haha yeah im just trying to keep away from electrical jets as i just love the push button  and yeah mine has two black single jets on the scuttle panel but i really dont like them, there plastic and have a steel nut so that means you cant take the jets out without possibly shearing them in half :(
