Do you use the rear windows on your Trav......?

It seems to me that the rear windows on a Traveller are not opened often other than the one or two I've seen on MOT.

I am about to replace a rear post due to wet rot in the joint where the post meets the centre section. To avoid any more rot I am considering removing the window runners, using wooden fillers where necessary and sealing the lot with Dum-Dum (Is there a better sealer?)

I aim to use the original windows. Comments please and if you have done this I would like to see a picture(s)

Thanks all

I usually have the rear one on my side open unless raining, to get a good through draught from the heater without the fan running. And yes in the recent HOT weather we had them ALL open as far as they would go!

I try to use mine fairly regularly in the warm weather, else they seize up! I currently have a really impressive moss garden in the nearside channel, which replaces the worn felt seals I replaced a few years ago!

I use mine regularly too,or at least just open them now and again as Maurice said, to stop them seizing up. I've used Tiger Seal to deal with water leak problems and for the first time in 25 years, my car is now leak free!

I am cultivating a crop of moss (sorry don't know the latin name) in my window runners at the moment :)

Don't worry Colin - my rear window opens too, and I'm not sure about it.

Sadly, on a two-door saloon, that's a tad inconvenient...
