CSE 994D.

I'm trying to find the above 2 door smoke grey/ light blue ( sorry, my brain has melted & I'm not sure of the correct name ) Moggie that belonged to my dad's aunt. She died in 1980 & my dad drove the car back from Buckie up on the N. E coast of Scotland back to Cardiff in a day. I think it took something like 14 hours! The journey went down as quite a legend & is talked about even now!
With a young , growing family, the car was part exchanged at Fordthorne garage in Cardiff for an Escort estate. I remember giving CSE a pat & saying goodby to her & feeling very sad.
Around 1992 my dad managed to find the name & address of the chap who bought her from Fordthorne & he still had her. Despite my dad offering to buy her back, her new owner declined, saying the family were intending to restore her as she had fallen into a state of disrepair, but his younger children were driving her at some point, & they wanted to keep her. They lived somewhere in Penarth.
My dad passed away in Feb this year & whilst sorting out a load of paperwork found a second letter dated 1996 from this chap, offering to sell CSE to my dad. For some reason I cannot remember this happening, or I would have bought her without a second thought ( we had just moved house though, so probably my dad had told me, then it fell out of my head!)
My dad declined the offer, as by then he had bought a maroon 2 door saloon- Rosie, who I now have.
I'd love to know if anyone here knows anything about CSE as I have very fond memories of her.
I've done the online search & it appears that she's still on the road.
I'm toying with writing to the chap who sent the letter, but , equally, I think I'll be very upset if I know I can't trace her through him. I get very emotionally attached to old cars y'see!
