Hi everyone.

I'm a new visitor to the site and happy to have a hoke around the site but also hoping to help my dad find out some info on his 1968 Austin pickup. These photos are a couple of years old from a previous owner, but it still looks the same, apart from the addition of a canvas cover on the back.

From what we've gathered so far it was bought new from Morris Garages in St Aldates by Sir David Wills and worked on his estate until perhaps early to mid 2000s.

It was then restored before being sold on.

I plan on contacting the estate where it worked, but wondered if anyone has heard or seen this vehicle before now?

I've been trying to get my dad to take it out to a few shows this year, and I'm looking forward to take a run it up the coast on a vintage run this weekend.

Thanks for reading and I'll try and get a few more recent pics up over the next few days.

Thanks for the welcome :)

Hi David, yep I'm in Northern Ireland haha

I'll see if we can make it at the end of the month. Your meeting spot is literally a stones throw from my dad's house! I'll say to him this Sunday and if we go I'll get the form back to you before the deadline.

I'm joining the EAOVC Cavalcade this weekend. This will be my first year but from looking at some photos of previous years there looks to always be a Minor or two at it. Do you know of anyone going?

That's a really nice pickup. Very clean but not over-restored, I'm just about old enough to remember seeing new Minors on the road, and this is how I remember them.

Thanks twincamman :)

I'd entered the pickup in the East Antrim Old Vehicle Cavalcade yesterday, so decided to spend a couple of evenings last week giving it a good clean. I'm pretty happy with how the pics turned out.

Looks great, but is there any particular reason that you have the choke control and windscreen washer plunger transposed compared to a normal Minor?

haha I've no idea. It was like that when we bought it.

If anyone has any theories I'd genuinely love to know :)
