, just wondered are the boot badges on 1955 series 2 painted around the ''morris '' like the bonnet or plain chrome , i have just repainted the bonnet one and painted on a new red coach line which looks great against the black paint work and thought the boot one looks plain

Martin, I have both Series MM ('51) and a Series II ('55) saloons and I'm sure both boot badges are "plain", except for the red central reflector. I'll take a look when I get home tonight.
George.

"plain" - I have 2 1950's originals (pitted chrome) and a "modern" replacement (nice and shiney) and they are all plain. The replacement has been fitted with a working reflector!

I don't visit here too often so have just seen this and would disagree with the replies. In the "Original Morris Minor" book there is a picture of the boot badge with blue enamel around the Morris script as with the bonnet badge. I also managed to obtain a NOS boot badge with the blue colouring some time ago.

Jethro's boot badge was plain but I have since added an LED stop light to replace the reflector and painted the grooves in the wings with black enamel. I dare say that other badges have been painted to match the bonnet one in blue, red or a combination.
