just wondered if anyone can help.
when my driver seat is all the way forward it rocks left and right. when put all the way back it is more solid.
the underside is solid, no rust or anything like that.
has anyone else had this problem, and how best to fix it
thank you

Hi,
May be stating the obvious but have you tried tightening up the bolts that hold it to the floor (two clamps holding down the front bar of the seat frame just under front of the seat)??
If they're a bit stiff wind them back out and give them a good dose of copper grease.
Wonderful stuff!
Best wishes,
Mike.

Are the seat legs the same length? i.e. is one bent slightly inwards. Take seat out of car and stand on a known flat surface and check. With age the seat legs do bend a bit especially if previous owners were a little heavy

i checked the bolts already, and as far as i could tell when i stripped the seats previously it is level.
i have been reliably informed by my other half it is the floor that moves.

dunno why he couldnt have told me that before.
i guess it shouldnt move. is there some sort of reinforcement that needs to go there, or is it just one of them things

Hi. My Moggie recently failed it's mot because the driver's seat wobbled from side to side. The reason was that the seat tube had fractured under the floor clamps. Might be an idea to take the clamps off and have a look. The cure for mine was to insert and weld in place a suitable bar inside the seat tube. Mot now passed!
