I am in the midst of repairing the bottom of the rear inner arches on my project. So far, I have cut out this part (same on the other side, although no pictures to show of it):[frame][/frame][frame][frame][/frame]

I only want to replace the bottom section and that rear corner which is cut out in the picture, NOT the whole inner wing/arch.

Go with the repair panel - but beware the 'hand made etc' - expect to have to remake it yourself when it arrives! Can you not cut the parts you need from flat steel ?

Before you close the rear inner wing panel fit a new rear chassis leg as yours looks really crusty! http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... 612094193e measure lots to make sure the spring mounting points go back in the same place!

you can then use this one http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... 612094193e to close off the inner wing that the rear inner wing corner doesn't cover and make up the rest with sheet steel.

Best to plug weld these panels onto the flange and butt weld where they meet the rest of the inner wing.

Thanks for the help. I am replacing both spring hangers anyway, but I want to do all I can to get it rust free on the top of the body first before I turn the body over, repair the underside and replace them. But if I should do the spring hangers first and replace the sides later then so be it. One reason for the repair panel over sheet steel is its got that bulge in the jacking point and is the right gauge pre-cut already, which for the price the repair section is would be a bargain.

It's a bump stop, not a jacking point.

I bought one of these repair panels a year or two back. It was a very simple panel, the main feature being the bulge over the bump-stop. However, the bulge was very crudely formed, apparently with just a couple of blows with a wide chisel.

I wasn't impressed.
