Re: door handle!!
Oh yes, been there and done that. My swear box came out, there's a thread I started asking the same question as i needed to do some work on the handle assy.
The windows frames gotta come out, and just getting the handle through the hole and out of the door is tricky.
Two person job removing and refitting the frame, another pair of hands at the ready is required.

Re: door handle!!
I assume this relates to 2dr and traveller fronts. Vans and 4drs somewhat more easy.
Re: door handle!!

Re: door handle (4door+remote)
Found the (exterior) door handle on the 4door dead easy
Of course the door release mechanism is another matter.
Although I can get spare drivers door units they are in remote places.
So, as the Drivers door gets the most usage, (a) after 50years the exterior handle has excessively worn, I will probably repair in time. The remote release has also worn, well more the door lock end interior. This is the same profile as the N/S rear door lock end. (So passenger door same as O/S rear door (4Dr).
The lock ends are secured by a rivet. To drill out rivet is straightforward, anyone got a source for a replacement sized rivet?
I dont think ESM etc list those, and toolstation probably have min order of box 500.

Re: door handle!!
it makes one wonder just how (efficently) the minor could ever have been put together in the factory, mechanising by robot construction would be nearly impossible (or alternatively much easier?)
