After fitting new wiring loom relay and lights. We have both lights flashing when indicating in both directions. havent yet fitted front lights as havent finished making them uo, tonights job!- does this make any diffrence or where should i be looking?

Wiring loom relay ??? If both sides are flashing then there is obviously a cross connection... Nothing to do with no front lights. Unplug each side in turn at the indicator switch to find out what's going on.

Check you've not got any Green/White wires connected to and Green/Red wires. This is likely to be where the indicator switch connects into the main loom behind the steering column. The switch has:

Green - Common
Green/White - L/H indicator
Green/Red - R/H indicator

I'd be tempted to disconnect the switch from the rest of the loom and buzz it through with a multimeter to give you conficence the switch is ok and you understand what connects where.

I'd get everything wired in and earthed correctly first (plenty of bright metal behind the earth points). I've just rewired a van and noticed the same problem halfway through so I pressed on and got all the lighting earths in (front and rear) and hey presto, when finished everything was fine.

Also check any green/red and green/brown connections as the two thin stripes can look the same colour in bad light.

thanks guys will try some of that tonight, another question, apear to have no spark, checked coil, for what it was worth, got voltage, at wire connecting to dizz.

any way of knowing oreintation of dizz and, how can you tell which poistion the rotar arm is relation to piston stroke i.e. to find which contact is for which cylinder/spark plug. find one and the rest should be easy i.e. working anti clock wise through the firing order!

Is there a spark at the king lead - going TO the dizzy? If so - then check carbon brush/tiny spring/rotor arm and dizzy cap in general. Then check for a spark at what you think should be #1 lead (ie it reaches the plug...) and then follow round anti-clock 1342 and give it a try. If no joy - (and you are sure of petrol..) then you need to find TDC on #1 - and move the dizzy till it sparks pretty much at TDC. Worry about optimising it once it's warmed up.
