Sliding into the car last night after work the seat collapsed under me. On examination the rear outside "leg" had split and bent inwards under the seat lowering me to the ground. Interesting drive home putting it mildly.

I can swap the seats around in the interim but how do I fix this? Was thinking of getting local garage to put a piece of steel bar inside the weak tubing and weld it back up.

Can I buy new frames?

Unfortunately you cannot buy new frames. You can get them welded or you could enter your location and put a request in the Wanted section. Many people have a good spare seat they don't need

For tubing repairs I like to stuff old bicycle spokes in if possible, gives a bit of flexibilty if a solid bar needs to go along a bent bit of tube

One bends the tube if it will flex, then fill with lengths of bike wheel spokes , flip other tube end over , it all hold, is stronger, does not necessarily need a weld as the interference fit should do the trick. (Works better when repairing things like those thin tube clothes airers)
