The diameter of the standard Minor torsion bar between the splined ends is 20mm.
If you are looking to fit Marina/Ital torsion bars there are three diameters 19mm, 20mm and 21mm.
The 19mm diameter Marina/Ital torsion bar is no stronger than the standard Minor one. The 20mm Marina/Ital torsion bar is stronger than a standard Minor torsion bar.

thanks for such a quick reply.
id did some searching on here but could not find torsion bar sizes easily.
i have a set of minor torsion bars measuring 19.9mm or 0.787 inches so I wanted to cross check with the minor 1000 size.
this is to upgrade a riley 1.5 torsion bar.
