Hi, I'm thinking of buying a 2 door Minor, with intentions of lowering it and fitting wider alloy wheels etc. Struggling to find a suitable mot'd vehicle that isn't a mega distance from rainy Cleethorpes on the East coast!
Also struggling to find decent photo's of other peoples modified Minors....can anybody here help with either a car or pictures,

That is an excellent lovely example and I would feel terrible fitting wide wheels and lowering it! Though big bonus is the rear seat belts

Got to be honest I am tempted by your Minor.
I need to find out how much a set of wider steel or some alloys would be with tyres. From what I've read dropping the front suspension costs just time and the rear drop is dependant on how much the lowering blocks cost.
I'm not promising anything though

depends how far you want to go from what i recall and someone will be along to correct me no doubt but you can lower about 1.5 inches before you need to start fitting uprated torsion bars.

Indeed, dropping the front suspension by 1.5" is just a matter of turning the torsion bar throuhg one spline. You can buy alloy lowering blocks for the rear for around £30-40.

Personally, I think old cars like Minors do look better on steel wheels, but there are a variety of alloys that can be fitted, such as Minilites and Slot Mags, etc.

Of course another alternative if you want to lower very easily (doesn't give the wide wheels though) is to fit the 13" rims from an austin A35. Our old neighbour had done that on his minor.

Indeed, or Spridget 13" wheels. These also reduce unsprung weight, so should provide some improvement in the handling.

Or - fit 15" wheels which fill the arches nicely, without lowering the car so it hammers the bump stops and rips the exhaust on speed bumps.......
