Rust inside the chassis box sections

Hi all,

Not sure of the correct term for the box sections, the ones that run front to back and you can see down them when you take the gearbox cover off. Under the drivers pedals, when you look down it you can see the brake return spring. Anyway, there is some minor surface rust down both these box sections on my moggy, plus a bit of oil/grease so its hard to dry them out. The rust is nothing major, just surface.

This car is a 'make do and mend' project (limited funds!) rather than a 'restore to former glory'......so if you had the same, what would you spray down the the box sections to slow the rust and/or stop it getting worse?

Thanks

Matt

I used this stuff lately on my green saloon, its in an aerosol so nice and easy and clean to apply, its thin and spreads and creeps well in to the joints and comes with an extension applicator. It takes about one aerosol to do both chassis legs and another to do the rear chassis legs and under the back seat.

Do you have access to a compressor? If so get one of these paraffin guns

and spray Waxoyl down there.
