I have just fitted new seals into the door frames on the car, as the old ones were rotten to say the least.

The passenger side one is hitting the vertical frame at the top when closing, it looks as if the glass is not in the frame properly.

ESM list a rubber for this, but I need to coax the glass out of the frame without breaking it, has anyone used the ESM rubber and is it any good, and how you get the glass out, any good tips other than carefully.

I have used the ESM rubber. The old glass just slides out but you may have to cut the rubber if it has gone hard.

The new rubber is pressed into the frame, then the glass goes in with a bit of a push.

I know some people dont like it but I used some washing up liquid to help it slide in more easily.

It was said to me some time ago that it was better to use car shampoo as washing up liquid has salt added to soften the water slightly where as car shampoo does not have any salt

That was easily;y done in the end, took the quarterlight out and into a bucket of water for a couple of hours while doing something else, some careful wiggling of the glass and frame and out it came. Decided that doing it on the lawn was the best bet, glass stood a chance of bouncing should something slip.

New seal in and glass re fitted, job sorted.
